Tailored Talks is a web-based platform and app. which enables clinicians to share personalised and relevant information, in easy-to-digest slide presentations. Clinicians can create bespoke presentations for each patient, which can be shared as a slideshow, via email or via a printed PDF to expand accessibility to the product.

Tailored Talks also has a patient facing area called MyTailoredTalks, which is currently being used within an integrated care pathway from General Practitioners (GPs) to community support, to support people living with Long COVID.

The key problems and how we solve them: Shared decision making: Significant research (including research conducted by Realistic Medicine) shows the challenges faced by clinicians in shared decision marketing with patients. These often occur due to the different levels of understanding between a medical professional and a patient, and because different people absorb information in different ways and at different times. Tailored Talks seeks to improve patient / clinician communication by addressing thise imbalance of understanding. Tailored Talks achieves this by enabling clinicians to choose the information that is relevant to the patient, in a format they will understand (via words with a max reading age of 10 years, pictures or film), and to share this at a time that works for the patient. Too much information that is not relevant, resulting in anxiety, stress and misunderstanding: The system eliminates the problem of generic leaflets on broad conditions, which are likely to contain information that is irrelevant to the patient; patients can be confident that all the information contained in a Tailored Talk is 100% relevant to them and specifically tailored to their needs. Patient’s struggling to explain their condition to loved ones or family members: The patient portal aspect of our platform enables patients to give loved ones access to their Tailored Talks, which means that they can also understand the condition and rehabilitation plans. Tailored Talks: Is being used across Scotland in ICU for patients leaving hospital after being treated for covid-19, for stroke and neurology, with over 465 clinicians registered for the system.
