PCMIS Health Technologies

About

PCMIS Health Technologies Ltd is the world’s leading evidence-based case management system for mental health. Designed by clinicians and world-leading researchers at the University of York in partnership with IT professionals, the system’s evidence-based and clinically-proven risk management and supervision modules provide services with the confidence they need in a system partner, that our technology will prevent patients ‘falling down gaps’ in the service and enable the effective management of risk without adding to staff’s already significant admin burden.

Our clinically-proven expected treatment response tool ‘Outcome Feedback’ is an award-winning way for services to reduce the risk of deterioration (by up to 73%) in patients whilst also reducing the costs of delivering treatment by enabling them to deliver symptom improvements in less treatment sessions (25% reduction in treatment sessions).

Our fully integrated ‘Digital Pathway’ tools deliver cost savings and patient benefits at scale, with online appointment booking shown to reduce telephony costs and deliver productivity gains for administration staff. Our online eReferrals and Patient Portal empower patients whilst reducing the need for paper based assessments and allowing greater clinical focus during sessions – less time spend ticking off forms. Our patient communication tools are proven to increase engagement and increase patient feedback responses significantly compared to paper or email methods.

We maintain a strong collaborative link with leading research institutions, with current projects and plans in the works for more exciting and innovative work to deliver real world benefits for clinicians and the patients in their care.

As a company we are driven by an ambition to deliver improvements to mental health support through our technology, to optimise and complement the work of clinicians rather than replace them.

Successes in UK/NHS

PCMIS Health Technologies Ltd are a trusted, award-winning NHS technology supplier, having been providing software-as-a-service case management and digital pathway tools for NHS Talking Therapies (formerly IAPT) services since 2006. We were the system used to gather evidence at the original Doncaster trial site, and the Pathfinder sites set up as a result of the positive, comprehensive evidence gathering facilitated by the data quality and completeness in our system. We currently supply 1 in 3 NHS Talking Therapies services in England, across over 15 NHS Trust and large Mental Health organisations, with an increasingly broad range of product use cases including Student Mental Health, Staff Wellbeing, Community Mental Health, Military Veterans, Major Incident Response (our technology supported the regional response to the Manchester Arena Attack) and Children's Mental Healthcare. In 2022 we successfully bid for an NHS England contract to provide patient facing online appointment booking tools for NHS Talking Therapies services, delivering impact and improvement across the programme at scale with a fully integrated solution. In 2023 our clinically proven ‘expected treatment response’ tool Outcome Feedback, was recognised with two national awards. We were named ‘Mental Health Solution of the Year’ 2023 by Health Tech News (htn.co.uk) and Highly Commended in the ‘Best Use of Data in Health Innovation’ at the Innovate Awards – a collaboration between NHS Confederation and the Health Innovation Network.
