Tiny Medical Apps is a rapidly growing Digital Health company specialising in asthma, allergies and the management of long-term conditions. The company was founded in 2016 by Dr Greg Burch (Emergency Medicine Doctor) and Matt Bourne (former NHS Systems Developer).

Their vision is to engage, activate and empower children and young people with long term conditions through a beautiful vibrant and engaging digital experience.

Their flagship product the Digital Health Passport has been designed to support children and young people living with asthma and allergies. The platform was developed and successfully piloted within the NHS in London and Greater Manchester and is currently available on a number of procurement frameworks: HSSF, G-Cloud 12 and London Procurement Partnership DPS.

The Digital Health Passport has been co-designed with young people and asthma specialists. Version two can be connected to NHS infrastructure via NHS login. The product supports: gamified learning journeys, air quality alerts, medication reminders, symptom tracking and care plan hosting.

Nearly 10% of the UK diagnosed with Asthma. 5.4 million people are receiving asthma treatment. Asthma accounts for 2-3% of primary care consultations, 60,000 hospital admissions, and 200,000 bed days per year in the UK. Focus on self-management is a key directive in all UK and international guidelines (NICE, SIGN/BTS, GINA) Since the beginning of 2022 the Digital Health Passport has been available to all NHS ICS regions supported by NHS England.

Successes in UK/NHS

Successful pilot in North East London, work preparing for a full implementation currently underway. Successful pilot in Greater Manchester, work preparing for a full implementation currently underway. Level 2 integration of the product underway in Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin ICS National project underway across many NHS ICS for Level 1 deployment funded by NHS England.
