About

Founded in 2018 by two practising NHS consultants, Definition Health has built an end to end digital surgical solution supporting personalised care to c.90,000 patients. Adopting a modular approach, there are three interoperable solutions that combine to deliver a comprehensive and digital surgical pathway;

LifeBox; an electronic pre-assessment solution allowing patients to complete much of their pre-assessment in the comfort of their own home through a digital Health Questionnaire. The solution provides critical prehabilitation advice and other important information to ensure patients are informed and optimised prior to surgery. Hospital teams benefit from clinical information provided in a consistent and standard format, reducing pre-assessment attendances by up to 60%.

Recovery; allows patients to be discharged into a ‘Virtual Ward’, the clinical teams remotely monitor rehabilitation progress post surgery and remotely intervene at a much earlier stage if things are not progressing to plan. Patients feel more supported and emergency readmissions are materially reduced.

Connect; a secure communications platform, facilitating remote consultations between the patient and multidisciplinary clinical teams. Patients/Clinical teams can share and upload pictures, clinical documents and other critical information relevant to their condition.

To date Definition Health has supported c.90,000 patients in their surgical pathway. Long term contracts in place with 6 NHS Trusts (covering 14 hospitals). Our NHS customers include, Barts, Royal Surrey, Mid Yorkshire, North Cumbria, SWLEOC, and Luton & Bedfordshire. 6 Independent Hospitals in the UK including, KIMs, St John and Elizabeth Hospital, New Victoria, Foscote, Montefiore and Parkside Recent contracts delivered will drive ARR >£1m p.a. / 250k patients p.a. Reduced pre-assessment attendances by 60%, reduced pre-assessment time per patient by up to 50% Paperless process combined with reduction in unnecessary travel saves c.19 tons of CO2 (equivalent to travelling over 400,000 miles in a car) / c.50 trees per 10,000 patients. £94,000 savings per 5,000 patients

Successes in UK/NHS

Founded in 2018 we secured our first NHS Trust contract in 2019 and today, support patients across 20 healthcare facilities across the UK (including the largest independent sector hospital in Kent) To date Definition Health has supported c.90,000 patients in their surgical pathway. Long term contracts in place with 6 NHS Trusts (covering 14 hospitals). Our NHS customers include, Barts, Royal Surrey, Mid Yorkshire, North Cumbria, SWLEOC, and Luton & Bedfordshire. 6 Independent Hospitals in the UK including, KIMs, St John and Elizabeth Hospital, New Victoria, Foscote, Montefiore and Parkside In 2021 we were chosen by NHS England through the NHS Innovation Accelerator (NIA) as one of only twelve innovations (and the only surgical solution) to help the NHS recover from the Covid-19 pandemic. We are proud that throughout the pandemic our systems have supported the NHS and Independent Sector in the remote pre-assessment of surgical patients across multiple specialties including cancer services. Supported over 90,000 patients on their surgical journey Following our 'no patient is left behind' philosophy, c.5,000 patients who live in digital poverty have been supported through our unique digital assist process.
